A CLEANING pro has revealed the three cleaning products you need to avoid using on your laminate flooring.

The TikToker, Maid By Nature, revealed the three products that could in fact ruin your flooring if used regularly.

In a short TikTok clip, she warned against the three cleaning products and shared a 65p cleaning hack to use instead.

She said: "Three things you should not be using on your laminate flooring.

"No. 1 bleach.

"Bleach contains small amounts of sodium hydroxide, which is also found in drain cleaners.

"It'll damage the finish of the laminate flooring over time."

The next cleaning product she urged you to avoid using was any that contain wax, oil or polish.

The cleaning expert added: "It will not absorb the wax.

"Instead it will leave a hazy film on your floors."

The last product to avoid was steam mops.

While you may have thought these give your floor a deep clean, they can in fact ruin it.

"Laminate is made of compressed particle board and it's sensitive to heat moisture," she explained

"Steam mops can not only ruin the finish, but also cause them to swell and warp over time."

The cleaning expert revealed you only need hot water and washing up liquid to get your floors clean which you can buy for 65p from Tesco.

The video has since gone viral with over 160k views and over 900 likes and people were quick to thank her for sharing her tips.

One person wrote: "Oh no, I’ve been cleaning wrong for the last 40 years."

"True. But bleach doesn’t contain sodium hydroxide. It’s sodium hypochlorite," penned a third.
